Methodology and evidence limits
Traceable sources and an explicit scope are the basis for accepting a conclusion.
Sources and independence
Each entry lists at least two independent source chains, with titles, institutions, URLs, locators and access dates. Translations, reprints and mirrors of the same document are not counted separately.
Documents, images and objects with provenance provide different kinds of evidence. Collection descriptions may reference one another; two sources do not mean that every detail is independently proved twice.
What was checked
Reading a film description is not frame-by-frame viewing; consulting an object catalogue is not physical authentication. Automated checks cannot establish authenticity. Claims carry nearby citations; precise times, figures, motives or later policies unsupported by the source are not supplied.
Numbers and claim checks
Figures must specify place, period, population, method and source. Different statistical scopes are not averaged or added. Judicial findings, archival records and scholarly estimates are identified separately.
Checks retain context. Editorially composed questions are identified as such, without invented speakers or claims about how widely a statement circulated.
Language editions
Translations identify the Simplified Chinese original and its version date. Text, factual fields and source links remain aligned. A substantive source update requires renewed translation checking before validation passes. Translation does not produce independent evidence or constitute an official translation.
Versions and citation
Dates record creation and substantive revisions. Keep original sources and limitations when citing; project summaries are not archival originals. Structured data and open crawling do not imply search-engine certification or guaranteed citations.
